Come One, Come All to the Latin Parade & Hispanic Fiesta on Saturday, September 26, in Toronto

TORONTO — The Hispanic Canadian Heritage Council (HCHC) has announced the Latin Parade & Hispanic Fiesta 2026, the most important cultural event for the Hispanic and Latin American community in the Greater Toronto Area, taking place this coming Saturday, September 26.
This event of major civic and cultural significance officially kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in Canada, observed throughout October following official proclamations from all three levels of government (municipal, provincial, and federal).
During the Latin Parade & Hispanic Fiesta, delegations from every Latin American country come together to showcase the presence, contributions, and diversity of a community that, day after day, helps build this city across every sector — from the barista at Tim Hortons to professionals at the top ranks of Canada’s leading companies.
The Latin Parade kicks off on Saturday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Street and Bloor Street, making its way through downtown along Bloor and Yonge until it reaches Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge-Dundas Square).
Once the parade wraps up, Sankofa Square will transform into a lively, traditional Latin fair. The goal is to bring the joyful, festive spirit of fairs from back home right into the heart of downtown Toronto — welcoming people from anywhere in the world to experience Hispanic culture up close.
Attendees are in for a deeply moving experience, seeing their own country represented through its colours, language, accents, and traditional dress — a reminder that while we’re all part of Latin America, each nation brings its own unique flavour to this shared identity. Special guests include a 50-piece youth marching band brought in specifically for the parade, an authentic Guatemalan marimba band, and many other groups proudly representing Latin American countries.
The Hispanic Fall Fiesta is free to attend on September 26, running from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will include:
- Cultural parade: Representatives from more than 20 Latin American countries in traditional dress, flags, and folk costumes.
- Main stage and live entertainment: A showcase of talent as Latino artists take over the heart of the city to prove that Latin American culture holds immense value. The lineup will span a wide range of musical genres — from the energy of Brazilian carnival and Bolivian folk traditions to the joy of Mexican mariachi and contemporary rhythms — offering something for everyone.
- Kids’ afternoon: Clowns, piñata-making workshops, caricature artists, face painting, traditional games, and much more.
- Dance classes: Live sessions for attendees of all ages and backgrounds to learn and enjoy Latin rhythms.
- Latin fair atmosphere: Traditional food vendors and handmade crafts from local entrepreneurs.
“This event doesn’t just bring together every country in Latin America in one place — it marks the start of a historic date recognized by all three levels of government to highlight our presence and impact in Toronto. Bringing our artists to the stage in the heart of the city reaffirms that Latino talent and culture matter. We want to bring the warmth of our fairs to remind everyone that we exist and contribute here in Canada, opening our arms to anyone, no matter where in the world they come from, so they feel welcome to celebrate with us,” said Oscar Vigil, Executive Director of the HCHC.
